How do I give?
There are several safe and secure methods of giving to provide convenient ways to offer your tithes and financially contribute to Calvary Lighthouse UNITED.
Simply place cash or checks in the offering buckets or boxes any time during our weekend services. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope, so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
Online giving allows for a specific dollar amount to be deducted automatically from a checking or savings account. Online giving is not only easy, it’s also safe and secure. We process all our online giving through SecureGive. This option helps individuals and families remain faithful in their giving even when they are out of town or unable to attend a weekend service.
You can mail your donation to Calvary Lighthouse UNITED at 1775 S. Flamingo Rd. Davie, Florida 33325.
Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
Will I receive a statement of my contributions for tax reporting purposes?
Yes, you will receive an annual statement of contribution for all cash donations for which you provided your name and address (cash contributions may be placed in an envelope with your name and address). If you decide to give an in-kind donation or items like stocks or bonds, you will receive a separate letter acknowledging your gift as well. All donations made to Calvary Lighthouse United are held in the strictest confidence.
Why do we give?
The Bible says the purpose of tithing is to teach us to always put God first in our lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also the way in which God meets the needs of our ministry. Many people don’t realize that their faithful giving provides one hundred percent of the financial resources used to conduct our ministry weekly. And tithing is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in our lives.
In Malachi 3:10 (NLT), God says this: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” This is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to put him to the test. In other words, he’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”
Trusting God with your giving decision:
At the end of the day, your decision to give is a decision between you and God. God’s role in your decision is to fulfill His promise to you as you faithfully invest in His work. Your role is to give your tithe cheerfully and watch how God fulfills His promise to you! So we encourage you to accept God’s invitation to put him to the test. Start tithing faithfully and watch what he does in and through your life!
